A Memphis, TN native, Katina is a classically/professionally trained vocalist with performance experience spanning diverse musical genres from Opera to Jazz and Gospel. She has won several awards, including Mid-South Regional Vocalist for the National Association of Teachers in Singing, and was a featured solo performer on the Disney Channel.

Katina’s musical gifts have afforded her the opportunity to travel extensively, as well as perform with many notables including: Former NAACP Executive Director Benjamin Hooks, Singer Joe Cocker (Get By With A Little Help From My Friends), Poet Laureate Maya Angelou (Phenomenal Woman and I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings), Comedian Bernie Mac, Hollywood Actor Blair Underwood, Stax Blues Singer Rufus Thomas, and Jazz Great/Duke Ellington enthusiast Randall Horton. Katina currently teaches voice/pedagogy, performs, and ministers at worship events. She has a heart for serving the local Church and the body of Christ.

Katina’s present endeavor is to complete a CD of original Christian music reflecting her diversified range of musical and personal experiences. One of her ministry passions is impacting people of various nations, tongues, generations and life stages via wide-ranging musical expressions for the Kingdom of God. “Music is a tongue with which spiritual ears respond, and God uses it to speak the language to draw hearts to Him.”

Katina is passionate about Biblical integrity in the Ministry of Music: reinforcing sound doctrine/theology in the musical aspect of worship – from servant leadership, song selections, worship service liturgy, worshipful rehearsals to administration – reclaiming God’s music for God’s purpose. Throughout her years in Music Ministry Leadership, she has served in several capacities including Director of Music, Choir Director, Worship Leader and Children’s Music Director.
